It’s been nearly two weeks since my last disastrous run. Today was the first day I really didn’t notice my calf twinge when walking about. So I decided I should try a shortish run.
I decided that not pushing myself for the full 5km was a good idea, and so set out for a 20 minute slow jog. While I could certainly still feel my calf for much of the way round, by taking it easy I never risked damaging it. It was the slowest run I think I’ve done since tracking my progress, and less than 3km, but it actually felt quite good to be back out.
Two targets for the holiday: i. get back to reliably running 5km; and ii. find a nice route without too much tarmac.
