Next month our MS reading group is going to be looking at the latest papers on the causes of MS. This is exciting research from a scientific perspective, and potentially offering up hope of a cure (but it’ll be a long time yet before the basic research leads to pills in my hands).

Here’s the list of resources we’ll be looking at. Are we missing anything?

A good place to start might be this week’s Inside Health episode, the first half of which appears to do a good job in summarising the papers we’ll be looking at.

Bjornevik K, et al. (2022) Longitudinal analysis reveals high prevalence of Epstein-Barr virus associated with multiple sclerosis, Science.

The MS trust has a short summary of this research here.

Lance T, et al (2022) Clonally expanded B cells in multiple sclerosis bind EBV EBNA1 and GlialCAM, Nature.
