Top of Landport Bottom, 10 June 2014A wonderful evening for running, bright sun, clear skies and a light wind. The first 15 minutes went very well, and the barley field at the top of Landport Bottom was glowing a translucent yellow in the setting sun.

However, once I got to the top, in sight of Firle Beacon it all started to go pear shaped. I ran out of energy and, at the point I started to head downhill towards the Neville, my hip started to hurt. The last 8 minutes were hell on stilts. While I just about managed to keep going, I won’t have broken any records, but just about feel better about myself for keeping going.
